“We have this space available where we want to open a restaurant with an original concept. No menu, simply good food served on wooden skewers and great drinks.” That’s the task that not only architects from studio CollColl who designed the interior, but also the entire team behind Špejle had to tackle. Stop by and see how it turned out.
Do you like places with a sense of humor, amazing interior, and delicious food? Then Špejle is just the place for you. Our concept comes from the beloved open-faced sandwich or chlebíček, a quick and quality staple suitable day or night. What about the favorite Czech dish pork-dumplings-sauerkraut as an open-faced sandwich? You can find it at Špejle along with other rare open-faced sandwiches with toppings, such as goat cheese, prosciutto, pesto, beets as well as cold, sweet, and salty variations. We change our menu according to the season and time of day, so different options are available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner – and, of course, always served on a wooden skewer!
Let your eyes and mood do the choosing. Our selection is divided into three categories: warm, cold, and sweet. We are truly obsessed with wooden skewers, so you’ll find them in every portion. In the place of a standard menu, you’ll find a buffet full of fresh open-faced sandwiches and canapés.
Our drink menu includes homemade lemonades, cocktails, specialty beers, and a carefully selected assortment of wine, sparkling wine, and champagne. Not even excellently prepared coffee is missing. Our pride and joy is one of the largest selections of Gin & Tonic flavors in Prague.
Špejle is a thin, circular wooden skewer most often used for shish kebabs, for the sealing of jitrnice sausages, roulade, or even for purposes outside of the kitchen like for creating various wooden models. For us the wooden skewer is full of design, humor, and is our calling. We are truly obsessed with wooden skewers, so you’ll find them in every portion. After you are done enjoying our delicacies, place the wooden skewers in the containers found on each table. We will ring your bill up based on the number of skewers you have – one skewer is for 33 CZK.
Our skewered nibblets are eaten by hand – that’s why you will find a number of sinks throughout our bistro. Behind cabinets reminiscent of school lockers, you will discover wall outlets with chargers for your mobile phones.
Welcome to Špejle!
We will show you to your table and help you to order a drink. Please, however, help yourself to the skewers.
Don’t be embarrassed to help yourself from our skewer bar and to choose from one of our eye-catching and mouth-watering delicacies.
You can choose from warm and cold skewers.
We are here for you and are more than willing to help you with your choice.
Enjoy your meal!
Place the skewers from your nibblets in the containers prepared for you on the table.
When you would like to pay, our waitstaff will count the number of your accumulated skewers and will print your bill.
One skewer is for 33 CZK.

It’s not a disgrace to fall and stay down too long. Life isn’t about how many times you fall on your ass, but how many times you manage to get up and keep on going.
